Athys has commissioned an highly reputed consultant to work on Pre-Scoping Assessment for a carbon mitigation initiative in the Peruvian Amazon, focusing on two intervention types: Afforestation, Reforestation and Restoration (ARR) and Improved Forest Management (IFM).
The objective was to identify potential priority areas for carbon project development of ARR and IFM Projects. The outcome of the Pre-Scoping study deems 2 ARR and 2 IFM most suitable prospective projects under RENAMI and VCS frameworks, (eligible under VM0047 and VM0010 / VM0035 respectively), in Ucayali & Loreto Regions.
Next steps are already identified to conduct the Pre-feasibility phase during Q2 2006.
